Lady Eagles Softball Wins No-Hitter

Kera Munoz was brilliant in the circle on Saturday, as she threw a no-hitter to lead the San Elizario Eagles Varsity past Van Horn 12-0.

San Elizario Eagles Varsity secured the victory thank s to seven runs in the second inning. Munoz, Jocelyn Diaz, Leslie Munoz, Desiree Morales, Joanna Argumedo, and Maryanne Tapia all drove in runs in the frame.

The Lady Eagles got on the board in the first inning when Munoz tripled on a 3-0 count, scoring three runs.

Rivera was in the circle for Van Horn. She surrendered 12 runs on tin hits over two innings, striking out three and walking one.

The Lady Eagles collected ten hits on the day. Diaz and Argumedo each had multiple hits for San Elizario. Argumedo and Diaz each managed two hits to lead the Eagles. The ladies were sure-handed in the filed and didn’t commit a single error. Tapia had the most chances in the field with five.

The Lady Eagles have won the country classic bronze bracket.
